A Good Word For Black Ops Archery
« on: November 13, 2013, 08:10:11 PM »
Took my bow to Black Ops Archery yesterday for a 'super tune' and that's what I got. Ryan started at square one and didn't quit till it was shooting bullets holes and broadheads on top of the field points after that. I hadn't been able to get them perfectly together with my new 60# limbs so I took him up on his offer. Glad I did. He knows his stuff and has all the right tools in his shop.
Shot today. Slight sight adjustment. Stacked my FP's on top of the broadheads out to 50yds. Come on elk.

He is my go to guy for sure- best archery tech around in my opinion.

Ryan is a good bow technician, used to have him work on my bows when he worked at the sportsmen warehouse.

I had some new 330 Easton Da Torch shafts ordered for my new 60lb limbs over the  Axis just to get a little speed back. Ryan told me to leave one shaft unfletched and he'd finalize the tuning when these shafts came in. Well, they came in and after fletching up some we finalized my bow's tuning in his shop Sunday with a fletched arrow and a bare shaft. They were hitting very close with the bare shaft hitting about 3/8" higher than the fletched arrow at 10yds consistently. Ryan made one tiny adjustment to my string and I stacked em both. He shot it and did the same but tore one of my fletches. He asked me to shoot them one more time just to make sure and I ended up Robin Hooding it. PERFECT he says, now they're really stacking, LOL.
Brand new dozen. First time shooting them and I'm already down 2 arrows.

Fine tuning my sight tonight in the little bit of daylight available after work. Broadheads hitting exactly the same and field points. Good to 50yds and then it got too dark to see any bulls eyes.

Good info.  I will drive a good distance to find someone good.  I may have to take a road trip south.
