I was looking at some old photos. I do so little in photoshop as I really like to post what I get, but I was dinking with these.....
They were taken back in 2007 with my Panasonic point and shoot.
I crossed this buck as he was trailing up the ridge. The fog was pretty thick and it was drizzling. I did have a tripod for some reason. I guess I knew the light was very poor. I took several shots, but the fog as it typically does, really ruined the shots for me. I decided to follow to see what I would see. Thankfully I did as I ended up getting on top of a decent old buck I had followed for a couple years. I remember setting up the tripod on top of a burm at the end of an old logging trail. The brush was thick and wet and it helped me get above it. THe deer were working close, sometimes as close as 20 feet. Most of it I took in as it was too dark in the timber for pics. Both bucks had their doe. I can remember the smaller buck trying real hard to keep his doe from mixing in with the bigger buck. It was a cool interaction to witness.
I used photoshop to turn this photo into a black and white. Interesting how it turned out. Looks more like a pencil drawing.
