Before this thread goes sideways, I would suggest to the OP to find a buddy who may have one, or find a range where you can test drive one, and get a feel for it dor yourself. I think you will be pleasently happy!

I went to go shoot one last Monday but the range program pistols are still out for warranty work since they are owned by Springfield and are lower in the list for repair.

If ever in Wenatchee I can hook up a test fire with either a 9 or a 45!

A quick double tap from the low ready position, with warm 185's. I had been shooting outside with out gloves for 2 1/2 hours so my stiff fingers were a bit slow.
On a warm day i can get to .65 rather easy.
As you can see the XDs is very controllable and doesn't need a 'death grip'

Clark does good work. The only bad thing I have read about them was a couple year old thread on snipers hide.

I use a death grip on a XDS and Clark's are hotrod stuff. May take them a bit to get it right but when they do. It will run hard against anything.

Same here. ;) BTW the 230gr recoil more than the 185's no matter how you paint the picture, 45gr difference there. My original post referred to the 230's. The 185's are comfy to shoot. The 230gr are my preferred bullet in a .45. With the 185's a guy might as well be shooting a .40.

With the low cap mag it is a handfull, but the plus mag, double taps are no problem with the hot stuff, and hits on target out to 130 yrds are quite simple. I know several ladies who find AND shoot this gun extrodinary! :)

You can speak for yourself and others all day, this is all in response to my "Death grip" remark. With 230gr full house loads in a XDS you need to be really holding on to it with double taps. Doesn't matter if your a guy, gal or alien. You can't change physics. I made simple remarks as to how it handles for me, it may handle different for others, sly remarks won't change the facts or my opinion and or experiences.
