Hey guys, I want to get into coyote hunting. Is anyone interested in going with me or have a place where I can go? Any help would be great. I live in Everett.  Thanks y'all.

 I am a middle school teacher and coach I live in Everett and want to get into hunting. I recently finished my hunters safety class and am ready to go.  Plus I really want to put my .223 to use.

Does anyone know if spencer or ebey island are open for hunting in snohomish county?

Be aware that you can not discharge a center fire rifle west of highway 9 in snohomish county

I've got elk calls. I could possible find a few coyote calls. Haven't considered hunting coyotes until someone pointed out that it was a good way to work on hunting skills.

The regs that I read said no center fire rifles west of highway 9 until the intersection of highway 2. Which means ebey and spencer would be good. Is this true?

The regs say east along along highway 2 to highway 203, then all areas west of highway 203 to the Snohomish/King County line.  Not really familiar with that area, so I don't know, and the detail on my map is too small... (Pg. 81 of the 2013 Big Game regs.)  :dunno:

A fair amount leave them, some sell/harvest the hides, and even a select few eat them.

Hmmm.... I have a local private land owner that want me to come hunt coyotes on their land. Can't leave the carcasses. Little interest in the hides. Less than zero interest in eating them.

Just kidding. But you could always bag it up and haul it into the woods or something. Unless somebody has pet cougars, not many people have any use for it, mostly trash.

I live in Lake Stevens, I used to hunt coyote for fun in Southern California and still do once a while. I would like to have someone to hunt coyote here as well. PM me if you want to team up.

Guys, I was going to hunt Watt Canyon until I looked at the regs and they have it closed for wintering elk.  Any suggestions for open areas for this coming weekend?

There are outdoor gun ranges west of HWY 9 and people who have private property that shoot west of HWY 9 as well with no issues. In fact there have been people checked by the game warden for hunting coyotes with AR-15s and mini-14s. Guess I need to do more reasearch.
