Trophy cam question

Whats your take, I love the two I have now, but I'm curious mainly about life expectancy of the cam. how long have you had your before it decided to break? or is it still going strong? probably stuff out there to to answer my question, but I'm lazy, and love the no BS info I get here.

I had one last just one year, and the other has 2 years on it, and still going.

At least the Bushnell's have a 2 year warranty. Most cameras only have a one year warranty. But I don't have any Bushnell's myself so I can't comment on their longevity. I do think trail cams will last longer if you only use them in the warmer/dryer months.

The ones I have have all died except one that is on it's last legs. I love how they work when new, especially the battery life. I have had one or two replaced under warranty, but now they are in my dead trail cam pile. I like them, but about two years seems like the magic number for me.

I have a 5 mega pix that is 4 years old and still working, now that I said that though it will probably quit, but 4 years is a pretty good life, for an inexpensive camera.

Do you run yours all year long?

Yes with the exception of hunting season for the first three years, I left it up through the season this year, always in a bear box with a visor I built to try to keep it as dry as possible.

I have 3 of them. The first one I got when they first came out and it died within a year. Called Bushnell and sent it back. They replaced it with the next gen model. Bought 2 more and they have been going for years with no problems other than they may be a little to sensitive.

The new models do have a 2 year warranty but the old ones have a 1 year so it depends on the model. If you want them to last longer pull them during the extended wet and cold months. The ones I have that fail were left out thru this time period. The constant temp changes builds up condensation causing the electronis to fail. Usually its the night time picture taking that goes first. Remember lithium batteries are less apt to fail with the alkaline as they usually will start leaking thus damaging your cam. You could put the absorb packets in the camera to try to combat the codensation.
