Finally Upgrading!! So Excited! Hoyt Carbon Element G3!!
« on: April 24, 2014, 11:12:32 AM »
I say "Finally," even though I've only been an archery shooter for about 10 months. Last Father's Day, my kids pooled their money to purchase me a used left handed Matthews SQ2 and thus began my Archer's Adventure. A few weeks later, I purchased a used Hoyt Vectrix XT500. The Hoyt shot exceptionally well but unfortunately, the DL was 29" and I'm more comfortable shooting at 28". I had to make a choice...continue shooting the SQ2, which shot good, but not near as smooth as the Hoyt Vectrix, or pony up the money for 28" cams, new cables and strings for the Hoyt, to change it to a 28" draw. In the meantime, I killed my first archery deer with the Matthews, last fall.

While still in the decision making process, we purchased our 8 year old daughter a Mission Craze, a couple months ago. While the archery shop was setting up her Mission Craze for her, I drooled over many new bows. This shop carries Matthews, Hoyt, Bowtech, PSE, Athens, Bear and Elite! I was in HEAVEN! A couple weeks ago, we purchased a used Diamond Infinite Edge, for my girlfriend. We took it in to have the peep adjusted for her. While there, I drooled some more. One of their employees informed us that all of their 2013 models were seriously reduced, to make room for the incoming 2014 models. Doubting they had any left handed 2013 models available, I asked. He showed me the Hoyt Carbon Element G3, LEFT HANDED, in Camo!! He then explained that the reduced price would be $749.00 bare bow!! Knowing I couldn't afford it, I was in agony!

Fast forward to today...

I now have the means to purchase it, called, it's still available! They're holding it for me and I'm picking it up either this evening or tomorrow morning! The purchase will include a 10% discount on any archery accessories that I purchase, the same day.

I'm SO VERY EXCITED!!

Now, I need your help!? What accessories should I add?! Both of my used bows came, fully set up. I'll obviously need a sight, rest and stabilizer, but WHICH ONES!? I already have a TightSpot Quiver on my Matthews, which I'll probably put on the CE G3, unless there are better options.

I don't want to go Hog Wild on the most expensive accessories but I would like:

a 5 pin sight, adjustable without tools if possible.
a decent fall away rest
a decent stabilizer

You suck, Sid!  :chuckle: :chuckle: Can you tell I'm jealous? Have fun with that bow, man. What a great bow.

HAHA, yes I can tell!  By the way, this shop still has A LOT of 2013 right handed bows, in several different brands!  It'd be worth a drive to the other side of the state for you!!

You have no idea how excited I am.  Shooting my Hoyt Vectrix is a dream, compared to my Matthews SQ2, except for the too long draw length.  I can't even imagine how different the Carbon Element G3 is going to feel!  Guess I'll find out soon enough...No, not soon enough, since I'm not there right now...lol

Are you referring to Spokane Valley Archery? Yes they have a huge selection. As far as accessories, I use Spot Hogg Hogg Father, QAD HDX, Tight Spot, and B Stinger stabs. I wouldn't recommend the Hogg Father at your experience level but can go wrong with any Spot Hogg sight.

No, not referring to Spokane Valley Archery, though they do have a good selection, they don't carry all the lines that this place does.

Thanks for the recommendation!

i also like the spott hogg sight ( i have the hogg it hunter)  a QAD or Rip Cord rest. and stabilizer i think would be good either a b stinger or limbsaver aws. your tight spot quiver is great.  sounds like you got a great deal on an amazing bow.  good luck and have fun.
