dont know about late.. always a lot of snow where we go up there. but in October we usually see some bruiser bulls wandering around and they arent spooked from people at all..
If its brown its down... or black... well if it has four legs.. or webbed feet... or fins... ok, ok if its edible!

Drew it a few years back. I think the wolves set in pretty good now. It was a good hunt. Killed the first bull I got in range of.

That's another thing!! We saw wolves up there 4 desperate weekends. Deer population is really declining.

Not an easy tag to fill. Weather is against you. The bulls are bunched up in bachelor groups on private property, and the wolves. Really it's the only hunt wdfw hands out in ew that has a possibility of shooting a decent bull. If you ask me it's a bunch of crap.

Here are a couple pics from a late season Teanaway elk hunt.  I drew the tag in 2010.

i think this tag is a high risk/high reward type hunt. you could go and not see a thing on public land or you could luck out and kill one of the pigs that are in there

Like teanawayslayer said, lots of bulls on private lands. You can catch them on public lands that butt up to private, but that can be hit or miss.

Great bull Chad Berry

A buddy of mine killed a nice bull in the 340's a few years back on this hunt.  It seems to be the only bull permit worth putting in for with archery equipment.

Tough hunt.  Some good bulls.  Those bulls are mostly on private land.  Can be tough access if friends or family draw the tag. Most of the public land has too much snow by the time the season rolls around.  The wolves haven't helped this hunt at all.

Tule, the other white meat.
