Question for you Oldtimers
« on: May 19, 2014, 10:11:24 PM »
I have a neat neck sizing die, it is pretty much a universal die and with the right bushing I could use it for neck sizing just about anything.  It is marked "Riverton Heights Gun Shop  Seattle 88 WN".  Can anyone give me some history or a source for additional bushings?

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I lived in Riverton Heights for 20 years in the 80's and 90's and never heard of it but from the "Seattle 88 WN" suggests it was pre mandatory zip code and pre 1963 when the two letter state abbreviation (WA) was inaugurated .

I think I found what info you are looking for in an old mag. Date form 1963.
Here is the link: www.gunsmagazine.com/1963issues/G0363.pdf

That sure looks like the source for this die.  From this one example it looks like they made some pretty nice equipment.

Thanks You

Riverton Heights Gun shop was originally located in a strip mall at 170th and International Blvd, near Sea-Tac. He later moved to a building near Foster. The gunsmiths name was Mort Bossler. I use to stop by there when walking home from school. Mort always welcomed kids. He built my first rifle on a mauser action in 6.5X55. Prior to gunsmithing he was a machinist at Boeing.

A little additional information here that others seem to be questioning. "Seattle 88" was a postal zone assigned to the Riverton Heights area. Postal Zones were used before zip codes.

Where in the world did you find that old magazine?  It was like a trip down memory lane.  Did you notice the advertisement from a gun builder in Bremerton?
