Got my 2012 bear back!
« on: June 07, 2014, 06:59:20 PM »
Got my 2012 bear back from the taxidermist. He kept it on his back burner for as long as he could for me so I could make paymets to him since finances didnt allow for me to pay what he normally requires up front but I guess being a return customer who likes to tip for good work pays off, haha. Still had to beg borrow and loan my way to pay it off to pick it up but its so worth it. My first bear, and my first bow kill. The picture is crappy but I will try to get another on at some point. It is the same bear as my display picture.

Great mount and I love the white patch.

Yea, he has done a huge bluegill I caugt in Cali, an open mouth rug of my first coyote, and shoulder mount of my 2011 blacktail. All have been exceptional work. I felt bad not being able to tip him for the bear this time but I think he understands, I had just got back from basic training when I picked up the bluegill and the coyote and so I threw him a good tip then. I think he has made $300+ off of tips from me when I had been able to tip. But this time I think he liked my knowledge better than money. He just got his son a bow and is getting him set up to start into archery but none of his friends or family have done it so I spent some time with him sharing my experience of learning archery and things I wish someone had shown me rather than my trial and error. I just love it when things work like that, like a community rather than cut-throat business.

Looks like a bruiser in the pic. I love the white patch. My bear was all black with a little bit of brown on the muzzle that really didn't show up well so I had him mounted in a charge with the mouth open for contrast.
