Bass Fishing Snohomish County
« on: June 23, 2014, 11:27:36 PM »
Hey all,

I am just starting to get interested in bass fishing and was wondering if there are any good lakes I can go play at in Snohomish County?  I dont have a boat at this time but hopefully will get it running soon.  Unfortunately, that means Im stuck to the shores for the time being.

Thanks in advance,

Ogre

Cassidy, Stevens, and Roesiger are all known producers. Blackman had bass (a while ago). You can start at any of these places. I don't want to name too many more places because asking for specific spots on the internet is not great…

If you are stuck to the shore, however you shouldn't waste too much time. You may catch one or two off a dock, but you really can't walk around a whole lake too well.

Ogre....this is garage sale time. Get out and pound the pavement and find yourself a belly boat. You can access tons of small water that will hold bass. Kick around the lily pads chucking plastics and weedless lures. If you got a few extra bucks buy a big old musky lure...a diving plug. Grind off the lip, chuck it out among the pads and let it sit. Let it sit until all the ripples are gone and all is quiet. Then, a subtle twich, then another. If there is a bass close by he will hover just under then blow it up. Good times.

If you can float try Storm and Armstrong. Both lakes offer lots of willing smaller fish in the less than 2lb range to practice on and get the feel for the "strike". Both lakes also give you the potential for a hog although not as common as some of the other lakes in Snohomish County. That being said my personal best out of Armstrong is 5.2lbs and 7.3lbs out of Storm and there's nothing wrong with that!

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks everyone,

I will try those lakes out.  H20Hunter, I have been trying to find myself a pontoon float that i can snag for a decent price.  Been surfing craigslist all the time.  Bassquatch thanks for the info...I definitely need to learn to detect the strike.  Its a whole new fish for me and a whole new learning curve.  I appreciate everyones input.  Wish me luck.

Unless things have changed, I'm pretty sure you can work around at least a couple hundred yards of shoreline at Armstrong to the south of the boat launch. Used to be that way anyway...

Are you saying its a Private Lake now?  or are you refering just to the shoreline?

I've got a float tube for sale in the classifieds. Very good condition...

Just the shoreline 7mmfan is referring too. It would be a great float tube lake
