Westport charter question
« on: July 17, 2014, 02:26:03 PM »
I would like to take the family(myself, wife, 3 kids) out on a 6 pack to get some salmon and rockfish/lings.  I dont have any gear, so thats why I'm looking at a charter.  I would prefer to rent the boat so they dont fill the 6th spot with someone else.  Does anyone know of a good charter for this at a decent price?  Or hell, if anyone out there has the gear and knowledge  and can take 5 people that would work to, I have the cash.  I'm would like to do this in 3 or 5 weeks or so.  Let me know.  Thanks all.  Tight lines and bent rods to all.

you will need to get on line and look up charter boats for Westport. Westport charters and Deep Sea Charters are the best in my opinion. They will list the boats (6 man charters). I have booked 6 person charters for the family in the past. I think it's the best way to go.

Deep Sea Charters!

I don't know if the boat does 6 packs but The SLAMMER is the way to go. Rhett is a damn good captain and will put you on fish guaranteed!!

Ive been on his boat for both Salmon and bottom fish and it was awesome I won't go on a different one unless someone else is paying

Ya, I went out with Deep Sea  Charters on the Tequila Too, Great captain and boat, bigger boat, holds more than six. Captains name is Ken I believe. We fished til everyone had a fish to go home with, one guy had caught a large fish and wanted to get back on time for the daily derby weigh-in, started hinting to Capt. about getting back in time, the capt. told him we were not heading back for one guy, and we will fish til everyone has a fish to take home. The capt. and deck hand fished also, to help us catch fish, not for themselves! Which I was told that some boats do. We made it back in time for weigh-in, but we were one of the last boats to come in, but we all had a fish to take home, it was pretty cool. I just called them yesterday, gonna try to book a day also.
I will keep my guns, money and freedom. You can keep the change!

Yea bottom fish trips are like that. Keep yarding fish over the side till the boat has it's limit.

If you can find a 6 man boat, book it. it's a lot more fun fishing with your family or friends.

Thanks for the info so far.  Ive been out deep sea fishing myself, on six packs and big boats, and prefer the six packs.  Less people :chuckle:

Im just more looking for personal experience from people who have gone out on certain charters.  It doesnt even have to be westport, just heard that was the place to go out of.
