Fishing with Gasman
« on: August 10, 2014, 08:45:44 AM »
So I was threatened by Pete that I have to write true version of our the story otherwise ........ he is gonna gas me  :chuckle:
After pressuring him  (that took about 30 seconds maybe even less) to go back to Westport and do some fishing ,he finally gave in and said OK.
We met at his place at 3:59 am ( I had to be there at 4am )and got on the way . Got to Westport at around 6 and had to wait 45 minutes to launch the boat . I think it was actually 7:15 am when we were cruising to the secret spot along with other 100 boats and charters . It was beautiful sunny morning with big catch expectations in the air . We listened to the chatter on the VHF and it turned out that the day to be fishing and catch fish was yesterday  :yike:. You know one of these " You should have been here yesterday ,we were just slaying them "  :chuckle: That didn't stop us . We continued motoring around and admiring the fish that was coming aboard of other vessels and I was thinking "OH BOY " At about 12:30 and no fish we decided to go to the grounds where no one had ever gone and catch fish there . We're just trolling and all of sudden the screen on Pete's Lowrance lit up like neon sign with bait balls...... we decided to turn and run that stretch one more time . My rod got hit and we got first king in the boat  :IBCOOL: ....then I got hit 2 more times - silvers ,but they were LONG LINE RELEASE ( some call it -you just lost the fish you dum a....s) .One just swam at 100 MPH to the boat and under and was gone .... The 3rd fish again unhooked itself due to faulty equipment  :sry:(Pete provided the terminal end tackle ) and I almost got thrown off the boat  :bdid: .After another turn my rod got hit again and this time we got nice silver female . So all this action was around 1-2 pm around the tide change .... after that the bait was gone and there were no other strikes where we fished . Some other lucky fisherman like Hunterman - had got 2 fish right away when they arrived .
Unfortunately for Gasman - his rod didn't catch any fish ,but we share and so he ended up taking  the silver home .
We had great old good time and would do it with him again .... his boat is great ride even though he could use suspension seats in rough seas .
Thanks Pete for sharing and taking me along .
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Had a great time out there with you Martin, it was fun watching you lose all those fish

Words to live by my friend,"Early to bed, early to rise, fish like hell and make up lies"  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

We will get together again and fish, that for sure  :fishin:

Sound's like a great time. Maybe next time I will be able to make it with you guy's. I appreciate the invite.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
