Man Shot Dead by his Rape Victim

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the man who was found dead from a gunshot wound in Gilchrist Township Wednesday evening.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Ray Tullis, of Gilchrist Township, died as a result of a gunshot wound Wednesday evening.
According to police, at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot inside a rural Pope County residence.
Upon their arrival, deputies found Ivy Winter Reutzel-Morrell outside the home and Tullis inside the home.
Reutzel-Morrell told investigators that she shot Tullis.
Police said that Tullis forced Reutzel-Morrell into a bedroom in the home and repeatedly assaulted her over five hours.
During the time he also allegedly made threats to her life.
Reutzel-Morrell told police that at one point she was able to gain control of a rifle, which she used the rifle to shoot Tullis.
Reutzel-Morrell is not in custody.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is continuing to investigate.

If the story is true, he got what he deserved.  To bad they released her name.  I wish they wouldn't release the name of the victims in these cases.

I gather he forgot to ask himself one question: "Do I feel lucky?"

Yea I agree about releasing the victim's name to the public. Odd thing, found her on facebook no problem, also the man who raped her is on her FRIENDS list on facebook. They knew each other in some capacity. They should just leave names out..

*edit* they were more than friends, they were dating. They have pics together going back a couple years. Wonder what happened, must be more to the story than it appearing like a random home invasion.

I agree with most all of the comments, but I do have to wonder how we know with 100% certainty that the lady is being honest about being raped?

Would it be possible to make up a story like that in order to justify shooting an innocent man?

I feel like someone should be held accountable for releasing her name.  I don't see where it should be public information, just confuses the situation even further.  If she is charged, fair game.  If she isn't going to be charged and is a victim, this makes her a victim twice (in my book).

That's kind of what I'm wondering... you look up that man's name and look through his pictures and there's a good half of the pictures he has are lovey dovey pics of him and the girl who shot him. That just kind of ... raises questions.

Ex boyfriend who just won't let it go and won't take no for an answer. Most stalkers are known by their victims. A high percentage of sexual assault victims know their attacker. restraining orders don't always work. But who knows. Maybe she's a stone cold killer....

She must have deleted her Facebook.  His is still available, along with all the photos you mention.  However, she's no longer "tagged" in them, just her name.  His photos also include a Robin Hooded set of arrows...
