Flat Tops

Just returned from 5 days of backpacking and fly fishing the Flat Tops Wilderness in CO. Amazing elk country and fly fishing. One little lake produced about 40 cutthroats for 3 guys in about 2 hours, all 12-15".

Steve, it was a great trip. Amazing elk country that went to the horizon in every direction. It would be great to archery hunt an area where the mid-day lull could be vanquished with fly fishing. As a group (guys from WI and ID) we did a similar trip in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in MT last year. Each trip is a bit of scouting, but also just a way to see some new country. I'd definitely hunt there given the right opportunity. Next year looking at the Wind River Range, Big Horns, the Frank Church, the Washakie/Teton or ?? So many places to see before a guy gets too old.
