336 cow down..
« on: September 09, 2014, 04:42:23 PM »
all week campng out, busted by scent twice, spooked one walking into my spot one morning when I came in a little late on account of rain.. and a lot of moring and evening sits where I saw nothing.. the last morning of my trip had this girl and her young'un come by. 32 yds, downward quartering to. hit a little far back, and she still only went a very trackable 200 yds. not perfect, but good enough apparently.. the muzzy and the gold tip arrow are both in good shape.

I was fortunate, out by myself all week, but had a friend in the area, so when I had the elk down I called. he said "i'll be there in about an hour'.. by then I had it quartered and the first load of meat, which was everything not attached to a leg quarter- at the truck. only about a 300 yd (uphill both ways) haul to the truck. I finished the last of the processing, cutting, wrapping, etc this morning.. and I shot her Friday morning..
