Deer shy now
« on: September 17, 2014, 09:29:24 AM »
I have had deer on my trail cameras almost everyday. So I thought maybe to entice the bucks I would use some doe urine. Now hardly anything comes in. Any ideas why?

Probably has nothing to do with the scent you put down. This time of year is when their patterns change. I've had the same thing happen to me with my cameras, consistently, in September.

It will be another month or more before bucks are interested in  doe "urine."   If there have been deer there all this time, there already is a steady supply of doe urine.

IMO, I have never bought into the billion dollar gimmick of scents and coverups.   I'm sure some work at the right times.  However, for fun, pee in a bottle  and stick it on the shelf for 9 months and tell me how that smells for you.  Soooooo, you have to add a preservative right.

As a description, it has always been said that we can smell bread being baked, and a deer could tell what the ingredients are and how much of each.     Just a thought to ponder.

Another thought to ponder is, you can put ground up dried dog manure in a capsule and sell it as an aphrodisiac, and millions will buy it and try it.  It doesn't mean it will work.   Its all about the packaging.
