Hunt Club or Game Farm
« on: September 29, 2014, 08:33:20 PM »
Hey guys I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where to take my nephew hunting this weekend. I live in Olympia and was planning on just taking a loan out to buy a western WA pheasant permit and hitting one of the release sites. But then I started thinking about the crowds and the pressure. I'm wondering if my money would be better spent going to a private club or game farm for the weekend to get the kid on some birds. Anybody have any suggestions?

I think the shooting preserve would be a much better experience than combat hunting on a release sight.  I bought a WWA permit once many years ago.  After that I started taking my vacation in the fall and hunting wild birds in EWA, MT and SD.

I've gone on a couple of invited hunts to the Double Barrel Ranch near Spokane and one preserve in WI and all the pay to play hunts were much more enjoyable than WA release sight hunts on a weekend.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Make mine a Minaska
