Modern umtanum cow tags
« on: October 21, 2014, 08:22:06 PM »
Just curious how many hunt-wa users drew the umtanum cow tags... I drew a muzzie cow tag for there a few years ago and ate tag soup cuz I thought it would be easy and didn't hunt hard at all.  This time will be different and I'll be hunting those five days hard.  Good luck to the rest of you

didn't even put in for that unit. there are a few elk down low right now.

I simply don't like wasting my points on that unit.

We have hade 6 in the past 12 years and never wasted one. It's just a matter of how much boot leather you want to burn. They are there.

We have eaten our fair share of tags in the Umtanum unit. Every time we eat a tag is on the even years unfortunately a buddy of ours has a cow tag this year

We have 3. I can think of a lot worse units than this one. We had 5 cow tags two years ago and filled all 5 before noon on the 2nd day.

Herd bull I was chasing had over 40 cows in that unit. Oh wait, nope sorry, no elk here, wolves ate them all better go to the blues or colockum, I heard they gave out 1000 cow elk tags there. :chuckle:

Had two cow tags for this unit over the years. Filled both.  You would bd amazed at where a group of elk can hide.  Boot leather, keep covering ground. Check every little draw and bush!! They can hide like rats..
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...
