Put this kitty down for a dirt nap!
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:20:46 PM »
well after a long long 9 days of hunting! We had our heads hanging a little low tried everything week could think of to try and put some deer in the freezer. we left deer camp on Friday and headed to our property to go chase some elk. Didn't see much over the weekend and were kinda bummed but yesterday at 11:30am that all changed. The fiance and I were getting ready to pack up and head home when she tells me "THERE'S A COUGAR" so i dig through the camp trailer get the rifle out and load a round, i figured hes long gone by now i through the bipod out and start hurrying looking through the scope to get on him i see his head poking out in the dark timber and the long tail behind him. put the cross hairs on his chest and let it rip i could hear the fiance "yell u nailed him" so i ran up around the timber and  there he is staring at so i shot another on through the front shoulders. he went down as i walked up to him another runs out and then disappears into the timber. as im walking up to my cat a third one jumps out about 40 yards away and stairs at me................. quickly the rifle goes on my back and i pull my side arm out thinking hum this is getting kind of scary hahaha. he jumped up and scurried up the hill. so i drag this guy back to the cabin and celebrate hahaha this is one of the animals that was on my bucket list and couldn't be any more happy with it! and saved alot of deer and elk haha. the 300 rum with a 200gr accubond did quite the number on it though but the taxi says its fixable u can see in the pictures the entrance hole from the first shot and there is a very decent size hole on its back as well. but none the less a tough animal it took that shot through he chest and out the back like a champ.

explains why the last 2 years we have seen a huge decrease of elk and deer on our game cams and a pretty big increase in pictures of cats!

Not sure they suggest a 300 rum as a good pelt gun.

Nice, I'm jealous. I've heard of 3 cougars shot in the last month here where I live. Plus the cougars that have been posted on here.

Sounds like we're having cougar, wolf and Ebola problems. We need to bring back hound hunting for cougars like the old days, bring in a wolf season and close our borders to help control Ebola in our country, since the liberals can't start to control that either.......
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
