I watched this old guy bedded for about an hour on opening day but passed. These days I just hate filling my tag on opening day plus I have the late Palouse tag and the multi season tag so I can still hunt the late muzzy tag if that doesn't work. Not to mention the fact that it was about 100 degrees that weekend. LOL. I saw some really great deer in the early season and can't wait until the rut starts. Check out the double mains on his left side.

Incidentally, this guy was bedded less than 300 yards from some lazy truck hunters who sat in their truck watching the flat where this guy was bedded. All they had to do was walk a little ways and they could have had a shot at him.

this one was only about 50-60 yards away but I was holding out for something a little better.

I hope I don't regret it. I still have late palouse tag and if that doesn't pan out I can fall back on the late muzzy multi season tag. I'm self employed and I don't work in Nov and Dec which gives me plenty of hunting time so there is a method to my madness.. Can't wait.
