has anyone hunted cook canyon hunt club recently?

I've been busy hunting ducks so far this season with my 8 Month old pup and I'm wanting to get my pup into some upland birds and to get my German shorthair on some as well.

The wife and I have been there a number of times bringing our twin GSPs up to speed as it where. The girls are two now and hunting well anyplace we go. For us it was worth it, particularly last year, just to get them on birds. The wife picked up bird hunting and her first dog two years ago as well. Great exposure for her as well. I also like that I can leave the 206 area, get the dogs on five birds and be home by early afternoon if I can't go hunting for real that week.
My perspective, I am a very casual dog trainer; I learn more from them than I teach them. I killed my first pheasant, over my first shorthair, 46 years ago. So far this year my dogs have retrieved over 100 birds, in three states. I'm still convinced the dogs and I benefit from working there.
Of the fields we've hunted, L1, L2 and L3 are our favourites.

My wife and seven year old son will also be going with me, my wife has hunted upland a couple of times but needs more experience and this will be the first time my son has been with us for upland hunting.

Have fun, don't forget to give your lovely bride a chance to shoot. I started counting to four.

I used to go there up to a few times per month for years and really liked it.  That said, I've not been back in about 5 years after a bit of a customer service snafu. We had a disagreement so I took my business elsewhere and don't see myself going back.

Up to that point, I really enjoyed that place and the ability to work my lab through different types of land with some good healthy birds in there.

Good luck!

I ended up just heading to the east side for some quail hunting, after seeing that there is a membership fee on too of the price of the birds. $300 would pay for multiple trips to the east side for me.

I am interested in going there too. Going to see if I can put together a trip for my sons and me - and of course, our dogs.
