tri cities
« on: December 16, 2014, 08:48:58 PM »
Wasn't sure where to post this so I'm sticking it here. We're headed over to Pasco for the next few days and I'm unfamiliar with the area. Going to go on a  little road trip on Saturday with my wife and son to look for some wildlife to shoot with the nikon. I was thinking about heading west along the snake river but im just going by what looks good and relatively close by. Not looking for any honey holes but anyone have any advice on maybe a direction to head from Pasco?

The snake is east from pasco. Head to palouse falls, just at an hour away from town. Or head out to Dayton via waitsburg. You'll see animals.

92xj has it right! You can hit...what is it-124 I think or cruise highway 12 and there's tons of farm land to cruise and once you get to dayton/waitsburg it only gets better

You can make the walla walla waitsburg loop. Head highway 12 east out of pasco, towards walla walla. Head up to waitsburg then I think it 124 back to pasco. Any side road along a creek or draw has potential for some camera shots. Lots of turkeys around there and a beautiful drive.

That's not even close to true. They were transplanted here onto the Yakama Reservation with the state fully aware of it happening.  There are also WDFW biologists monitoring them.

I live in tri cities and still havnt seen the antelope! Both highway 12 and 124 are great options. Highway 12 has wineries along it too if you and or your wife like wine.

Not sure which way your going to get there but you should include HWY 14 either there or on way back? Should see something to photo along the Gorge.. If you catch it right at sunset you can see some very neat colors and clouds and such.

We took highway 12 east to touchet than headed north on touchet road to highway 124 back. Saw ahandful of whitetail including a couple bucks but too far a away for pictures. I was surprised with all the feel free to hunt signs along touchet road. It was a nice drive through some new country. Thanks everyone for the advice
