self filming hunts
« on: January 11, 2015, 05:01:23 PM »
Hi guys I am hoping to start filming my own hunts and editing my videos once I come home from deployment.  I am planning a turkey hunting trip in may when I come home and want to film it myself.  My question is what is a good setup to buy or what kind of camera and stuff do you guys use to film your own hunts.  I do not sit in a blind I spot and stalk and stay mobile.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

First off thank you so much for your service!!!!

I use a cannon vixia HD vid camera....its small but takes very good quality video. I use an external mic setup that gives me better audio. I keep it on a tripod most of the time so I can just set it up when I need it. I also use a GoPro along with my video camera. As for editing, I am a Mac guy so I use Final Cut Pro....it will do everything you want/need to give your video's a solid professional look.
