Gig Harbor Clams
« on: January 26, 2015, 12:55:57 PM »
Just got this weekends soccer schedule and looks like my daughter and will be in the Gig Harbor area on Saturday. Would like to get some clams (hard sheel varities) while I am there. There are three places I have in mind that are open, at least for now. The low on Saturday night is only -0.27. I have never been on any of these beaches and the WDFW web site says "Very little known".

Any one have any experience on these beaches and know whether -.27 is enough to expose the beds?

Thanks

I used to do pretty good at the Fox Island bridge. We would park at the boat ramp side and go dig on the other side. Used to be plenty of them over there, but it has been years since I was over there. Good luck where ever you go.
