Good reminder.  I need to break out my mouth calls and get tuned up.  I'm going to give it a try this year on opening day.

That's good to see!  Trying to get my 10yr old his first next weekend near CleElum.  Big bummer that the youth hunt is Easter weekend again, makes it tough.  Might hit the NE later in the season.

December?

I kind of crack up at these threads.  Toms have been strutting for months and they gobble when they fly down on Christmas morning  :dunno:

Not me, I've seen elk bugle in December while bow hunting for deer in the mountains. Doesn't hold a candle to when they do it in the deep dark nasty while backpacked in during early bow with a tag in my hand.  But post away negativedude.

I've been putting public land birds to bed almost every night since mid march. They have been gobbling every night and prob long before that but idk.  But I can attest that their gobbling has really increased about 10 fold in the last 2 weeks!  Regardless I'm super stoked about this season!!!
