Wyoming, Unit 45
« on: April 26, 2015, 02:56:55 PM »
I'm fairly new to the forum, mostly read but don't post much.  I drew a Unit 45 bull elk tag in Wyoming and would like any advice I can muster.  Areas, drainages, anything would be helpful.  It's not a tag that can be drawn often so I'm hoping I could actually get some good info on an area, hope thats not too much to ask!

Ron, glad to see you join the site.

For those of you that are probably thinking "here's another new guy looking for info after the draws" you are absolutely right. Haha. Ron is a coworker of mine that has been a lurker on this site ever since I started working with him in 2010. He is a great guy and accompanied me on our 2011 Alaska moose trip where I killed a 65.5" bill and Ron killed a 60.5" bull on the second to last day of a 12 day trip. My bill is in my avatar. Ron, you should post a picture of that bull and your 7x8 bull elk you killed in Oregon, guys around here love to see horn porn and know you aren't a conservative. Haha. Anyways guys, Ron had max points for elk and is pretty dang excited about this tag. Any help you boys might be able to offer he would really appreciate obviously. He's an avid hunter, who hunts Wyoming most years and when he doesn't he is in Oregon or Washington depending on draws. Reloads his own ammo and showed me the ins and outs of reloading. Just a little intro for Ron so you guys have an idea of who he is.
