Question?
« on: July 28, 2015, 06:07:37 AM »
One of my friends just bought a go pro mount for his bow. With the laws saying you aren't supposed to have anything on your bow to give it a "modern" advantage, he and I weren't sure if it's legal for him to hunt with his go pro on his bow. Can someone help answer this for us? Thanks  :)

You're not giving the bow any modern technology to "help". You're just filming an action. I'd do it all day long.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Straight from the regs:

Its unlawful to have any electrical equipment or electronic devices except for illuminated nocks, attached to the bow or arrow while hunting.

Awesome. Thank you. I assumed it would illegal having it mounted directly to the bow. But wanted to check

You'd get better footage off your head.  Field of view would be the direction you are looking.  Most people don't walk through the woods with their bow at arms length pointed forward.
Just another perspective

On your head and put the camera right on your temple....a little offset to take into account head turn.

Keep it on the head, your head will stay on target while the bow will rock at release and won't have the arrow impact in it's field of view.

:yeah: Ive had the GoPro on my shotgun and bow when I hunt, but the best footage was when I had the head mount.  :twocents:

The regs do not say "you aren't supposed to have anything on your bow to give it a "modern" advantage."  They say nothing electronic attached to your bow, except illuminated nocks.
