Want to buy a knight disc extreme!
« on: January 03, 2016, 03:57:46 PM »
I have 12 months to buy a new knight disc extreme. I would like to buy it as cheap as possible. Like I said no rush to buy it. Does anybody know where I can get the best deal? Any certain sale or location? Thanks!

Actually since you have the time to sit on this for awhile - it really might be best! UNLESS you can find a dealer that has some old stock.  Ifn I were you I would start checking web site and making phone call now. Knight may be in the process of changing their whole marketing process completely.  Right now the prices are extremely high unless you can find a dealer that has not moved there prices up to match Knights new strategies.  As an example Sportsmans WHSE was selling them in the $450 area and now they are up in the $600 area...

Might try Bob's Sporting Goods in Longview WA. See if he has any left in stock.  Muzzle-loaders.com has the normal regular price on them still posted $430 but they do not have any in stock...

Really hope you can find something...

Thanks for the response, Mike! Are there any good sales you can think of? Sounds like I may have to just hope I find a store with the old pricing. Wonder why the prices went up so much?? The gun on muzzleloaders.com was black stock and called the "freedom series". Is this the same one as the normal disc extreme I have been hearing so much about?

You might take a day and hit. Sportco, Vans on river red. Bullseye down the street on the left from vans and then to Big J's in orting. Kinda of a fun road trip...

Check Sportsmans guide ,I bought a Disc Extreme for 359.00 last year. But it was a 52cal. I checked a few minutes ago and now they are going for 395.00.

This is how my last week went in the search for a disc extreme. I bought one last week after a lot of looking for 499 from sportsmans in puyallup. I emailed muzzle-loaders.com about when they were expecting more in and the response was they are waiting to talk to knight at the shot show because of a possible price increase. I had to go to seattle last week so i hit sportsmans in federal way and they didnt have any just a bighorn and ultra lite.then hit sportco and didnt see any in the muzzleloader section. Stopped at bass pro and  they didnt have any knights, so i wasnt doing all that good. I called puyallup sportsmans the next day and they had a few so i bought one there. I hit sunbirds in chehalis and yelm this week and didnt see any in stock when i was shopping there just a bighorn.

Which store still has them at that price?  The web site is saying $600 for the Western Extreme - but none in stock..

The Freedom series is basically the same gun - just a few more plastic parts on the stocks.  Only available in red plastic jackets - 209 ignition but all of that can be changed.

My boss bought the freedom series western  from muzzle-loaders.com when they had them in stock.  That is the route i was gonna go, but i didn't want to wait especially if the price was going to possibly go up.

I checked Sportsmans WHSE in Lewiston today.  They still had at least one ULite at $749, one TH DISC Extreme @ $499

So it appears if you can find them in the stores the price remains the same until they order again...

I bought the Western Disc Extreme earlier this year for $499 at Sportsmans Warehouse. My advice would be if you can get one at that price, don't wait. Very nice shooting gun

I called puyallup sportsmans the next day and they had a few so i bought one there.

I lucked out and got the LAST Disc Extreme from the Puyallup Sportsmans Warehouse for $499 a couple days ago.

I think they left some things out of the box, because there was no owners manual in there.  I emailed Knight and they replied the next morning with a link to the manual.  Then while reading the manual (yes, some guys do read instructions LOL) I see that there should be other things in the box like sample bullets, full plastic jackets (maybe not included in WA guns?) and Jag/Extension.  Did you get any of those items in your box?

Thanks for that data point.  That's really surprising because I've NEVER bought a new gun that didn't come with a manual.  Sounds like some people get a manual and some don't.  Perhaps their shipping department was hung over that day?  :bdid:

I questioned Knight Customer Service about the missing parts/accessories.  They told me that this information is outdated (it was in the Owners Manual that I just downloaded from their website) because they haven't had a DVD in the gun box since they took over ownership back in 2010.  Oh well, I got all the parts I need to make it go boom.

And boom it did this past weekend when I took it out on it's maiden voyage.  The wife is new to pistols and had a new toy, so we spent a lot of time shooting it.  Didn't have much time left to shoot the new Knight, but it shot great for the 5 rounds I put through it.  Not having windage graduations, it took 3 shots to get it lined up and then the last 2 took it to a bullseye.  Next time at the range I'll get it zeroed based on what distance my eyes will let me shoot so I can get ready for hunting this fall.

I just purchased a disk extreme w/thumbhole stock, western edition.  Purchased at SW in East Wenatchee for $499. They may still still have some left at that price.
Good Luck!
