No idea the reasoning behind it, just stating what's in the proposal is a reduction in opportunity.

Why would they drop it down to one Sept tag and no late archery tags? Plenty of elk to support more tags.

They tend to not follow reason or common sense.  I have heard everything from Native Americans taking to many too the presence of wolves.  Could also be the liberal anti Hunter bias in the area which is rather high.
