A few hours on the range
« on: February 21, 2016, 04:56:24 PM »
Got to the range today which was great.  I typically don't spend much time there from October until bird season is done at the end of January and winter depression has set in.  Had loads made up for a few rifles and shot a total of 5 different rifles. 257 Wthby Mag (18 rds), 260 Rem (25 rds), 6.5 Rem Mag (9 Rds), 300 WSM (3 rds) and 350 Rem Mag. (9 rds).    My shoulder is not in recoil shape right now and it knows I have been shooting.

Had some good results with the 260 and 140 Hornady A-Max bullets trying varying seating depths with the same charge.  Not so sure I want to use this bullet for hunting, I know it will work but,  it really makes a mess from what I understand.

I am still not finding what the Wthby likes yet.  This time I tried Barnes TSX-FB 115 gr and had the best results at 65 grs of H-1000 but still only at .843" group.  Max load says 67 I believe, maybe I need to take it a little further before I give up on it or change powder possibly.
