Bobcat calling
« on: March 27, 2016, 09:11:46 PM »
Saw a huge bobcat today. Originally thought it was a cougar but it didn't have a long tail as I came up closer on it. Any suggestions on calling these things from first hand experience?

Approach and set up are the most critical. Sneaky, quiet, and hidden. Use busy constant loud sounds in my experience. Change them a lot if you're using an ecall, keep them focused.

You need to wait until next year when the season opens. He will be bigger then anyway :hunter:

Ya I might have some fun and see if I could get a few pictures of him while coyote/cougar hunting. Couldn't imagine him getting much bigger haha

I have had bobcats come to my calling setups using bird and mouse or vole sounds, good luck and be patient

The bird sound makes sense. The distressed rabbit can be almost overwhelming sometimes.

I also have a bobcat in heat on my foxpro. Have you guys tried this?

Have not used Bob in heat have used cougar in heat, did not work ..yet. I was sitting by a creek one night and heard birds chirping, all of a sudden one went into distress squwaks and I could hear it being carried away.
I remembered that, it works.  Bird sounds work for lots of stuff.
