Reel repair
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:30:19 PM »
I don't know much about fishing gear. I really liked this reel but it broke during the fall run. Just when I figured out how to cast with one of these! The button you push down before casting wouldn't release, it couldn't reel. I took it apart but couldn't figure anything out. Is there anywhere to get them fixed or is it not worth the $?
what in the wild wild world of sports???

I think that Sportco in Fife has a reel repair guy that they use.

You will have to weigh if it's worth it to get it fixed.

Ollie Damons does solid work, but by the time you pay to ship it, then pay the minimum + parts fee, you might be able to buy a new reel.

Is that a Plfueger Trion? I know they made more than 1 model. You may be able to find another just like it, then you have a 'parts reel'.

I've seen ads on Craigslist for local reel repair- IIRC one in Lacey and one near Eatonville.

Definitely a Trion. I used to have a lineup of em. Have several parts reels now and one that I use for steelhead now. If you like that reel I'm sure you could find one relatively cheap. I was buying them 10 yrs ago around $100. That's an older model so might be harder to find. Check eBay
