So after taking a original 4"xd 9mm in on a trade, I really started liking the pistol, the ergonomics, the ease of takedown, tge build quality, I liked it all. I originally was going to just sell it, hut after running a couple hundred rounds through it, I decided to keep.
The only thing I didn't care for was the trigger, and after shooting an issa steel shoot at the local range, I knew something had to be done.
Enter powder river precision. They sell a couple different trigger kits for the xd series pistols, I went with a drop in kit for just over 100$. It did require very minor fitting, a small set of files and some sand paper took care of it though, I'd never installed a trigger, and it only took me about 45 min or a hour.
Now the pre travel is less the 1/2 of stock, with no overtravel. Trigger breaks clean and smooth, and the reset is very pronounced, I haven't put it on a scale yet, but my stock trigger broke at 7.1#, I'm guessing this is 3.5-4 now.
They also have an aftermarket sear, which I regret not getting, that and a stainless guide rod, with Wolff recoil springs are my next upgrade.
Trigger took my groups in 1/2, and I'm guessing will knock a full second on average off my times during steel shoots
I highly recommend this mod for your xd, best money I've spent on it to improve my shooting (outside of ammo)
