group application clarification

hoping to settle a debate I've been having with regards to group applications....

so if two guys partner up with an avg of 5 pts (5x5=25 "tickets" in the drawing) do their names go in together on the same "ticket" 25 times? or does each guy have 25 individual "tickets" in the drawing and they both benefit if either gets drawn?

 hope that makes sense. The second scenario seems too good to be true so I tend to believe its the first one.

You get one application with the average of your combined points. 2 guys, 5 points each = 1 app with 5 points, 25 names in the hat. I once thought that each member of the group would be in the draw with the average points of the group but that is wrong.
