Hey guys,
So after speaking with the wife about our finances and such I was given the go ahead to buy a vail permit for this year so I can get out and hunt a little closer to home... we have a child due in August which is what drove me to this decision. I figured if I could get some hunting in closer to the house I'd be able to get out more often than if I was driving an hour or more one way to get into hunting.
With that said, would any past permit holders(or current) give me some advice about the area in general? I shouldn't need to mention this, but I'm not asking for honey holes or gps coordinates to the nearest B&C buck. Aside from walking in to fish the Deschutes a few times I am completely unfamiliar with the area, and I won't be able to get in there until August 1st. As I'm going to be really limited on time, I'll likely be hunting all seasons so i have the most opportunity to get out(was drawn for multi-season).
Thanks guys.
