Due to the brutal drought that is still ongoing in South Africa, we're also offering a couple of heavily discounted management cape buffalo bull hunts for this year. This management buffalo hunt is for 5 full hunting days (6 nights) for a non-trophy cape buffalo on our hunting area in Limpopo Province (see map below). This is an all-inclusive hunt and you will not be surprised with any hidden costs when you arrive. This package includes everything except for your air fare: we will pick you up and drop you off at Johannesburg International Airport and take care of everything in between. This package may be booked any time until 30 September 2016.
Cape Buffalo Management Hunt Special
5 Day Management Hunt for 1 Hunter
1 Non-Trophy Cape Buffalo Bull
$5,500
If you've ever wanted to experience the thrill of hunting Cape Buffalo, then this is the perfect package for you. All of our buffalo hunts are conducted on foot by tracking breeding herds and groups of dagga boys and maneuvering through the thick brush for a close range shot. At such a low price, this special is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an Cape Buffalo hunt without spending a ton of money. Your hunt will begin with pick up at Johannesburg International Airport then you will be driven to our luxury camp near the town of Hoedspruit (about a 4 1/2 hour drive). All hunters will be lodged in an individual chalet with a bed, shower, sink, toilet, and 220v electricity. Our professionally trained camp chef is skilled at preparing authentic South African cuisine and wild game. We only book one hunting party at a time in order to provide the best possible hunting experience for all our clients.
This special is priced in US dollars and can be upgraded with additional hunting days ($400 per day per hunter) and additional animals at the normal trophy fees. A non-hunter may be added to the trip for $250 per person per day. In addition to the non-trophy buffalo bull included in the package, you may also upgrade the hunt with additional animals at our normal prices. We currently have impala, kudu, blue wildebeest, zebra, and warthog that may be hunted at the same place.

What do you consider a management hunt?  Immature animals or just ones that may be mature but do not score well?   :dunno:  looking for an excuse to blow my savings.

On this buffalo hunt, you’d be targeting a soft bossed bull of a similar size and age to the one in the photo below. Even though he would not be considered a “trophy” by record book standards, he is still a very worthy adversary and you’d still be getting the full cape buffalo hunting experience at less than half the normal price of a trophy buffalo hunt.
The hunting area is just over 10,000 acres and directly borders Kruger Park, so it contains an incredible bounty of wildlife, to include all of the Big 5.

So it borders Kruger but the birder is fenced?

Correct. Believe it or not, unlike most National Parks in the USA, virtually the entire perimeter of Kruger is fenced.

We just finished up our first buffalo management hunt and it was a great one. After tracking the herd for several miles, we finally caught up to them right around the time a pride of lions was thinking about having buffalo for lunch. While the buffalo were all focused on the lions, we crawled on our bellies to within 20 meters of the herd, where we had a clear shot. A single shot from a .375 Ruger using a 270gr Barnes TSX broke both shoulders and put him down for the count to end an exciting hunt!
We've still got a couple of management hunts left for this year, so if you want an adrenaline pumping buffalo hunt, but don't want to spend a ton of money for a trophy bull, this is the perfect opportunity. Don't let it pass you by!
