I am no pro considering this will be my first actual attempt of really getting into this fishery but....

Bobber and herring or anchovy under it on a mooching rig. Some I guess run without a bobber even. Or throw spinners.

Was out there yesterday giving it a scout now that the rest of the jetty is open. Therest a some people fishing but sounds like it's still pretty slow going. No signs of action in the hour or so we wandered up the jetty trying for rock fish and talking with fellow fisherman only a few said they "heard of some being caught" but I take it as still pretty slow going. I'll be out there all next weekend hoping the fish will be showing up this coming week.

I was out there yesterday looking around. My observations were the same. Never saw a fish caught. Still a bit early!

Fished ocean outside buoy 10 yday - very slow everywhere.  Got two coho in the box.  Lots of red algae coloring the water - gotta be messing with the fish.   Too early yet.

I run a large slip bobber with a couple ounce banana weight followed by a herring or anchovie.    bobber stopper,  10 ft then orange weight, 4ft slip tie herring hooks.  Weight depends on current.

Was hoping to hear a better report, we're gonna be out there tomorrow on the jetty and praying we get a couple early fish. Otherwise I'll be hoping to hit it the next couple weekends when hopefully things have picked up.

Currently out here waiting for the tide to turn and fighting Flys off. If anyone has a secret to keeping these things off I could really use it about now! I don't expect it to be a epic day but you can't catch anything from the couch.

Went out yesterday and there were no fish. Fished for five hours and not one bite. Probably 50 people fishing. Nobody hooked one or no take downs. The flys were really bad.

Damn, was planning on being there this saturday again. Was really hoping there would be even a little bit of action. And the flys are relentless out there!

Anyone make it out this last weekend? Thinking about going this coming weekend after we cancelled last Saturdays trip and decided to fish closer to home. I was really hoping the jetty was gonna be like previous years but I guess luck changes when you actually try to go out there and fish it seriously.

A couple years ago I fish it with a blade bait 3/4oz I think, casting as far as I can and ripping it back and knocked the silvers dead.  That was from the Westport side though.

Any updates lately?  I heard some silvers are getting picked up in the river trolling.  Any improvements off the jetty?

Two mornings fished, saw one caught, fish checker on Friday had checked in two silvers for about 100 anglers--I could have been a lucky #3 but lost one... That bite was the only action.  Still slow.

Looking at the numbers for Buoy 10 it looks like they are starting to come in.  I'm headed out to the jetty tomorrow morning with my son and we are going to see how we do.  I'll post an update tomorrow night.

Looking for clarification as far as what section the jetty falls under in the regs for salmon fishing. How long is it open and what can you keep. Thanks

The way I understood it was it says it follows the most liberal regulations for marine area one or buoy 10. And is open if buoy 10 or marine area one is open. So I'm assuming it remains open even though marine area 1 closes earlier than buoy 10, and buoy 10 goes until the next weekend? Or am I understanding this wrong?
