Opening day MT goat

So I drew this tag without knowing anything about the unit. I honestly didn't even want to draw it as I was only putting in for a difficult unit in hopes of getting a point. Well as my luck would have it I drew and I took a trip to the unit in mid September to scout. Saw quite a few goats but only on private land and I got access to a great piece of property but was told I couldn't hunt it until the first weekend of November. I decided to make a run over to deer lodge on the 8th for the opener just to see if I could get it done on public land and avoid paying a trespass fee. I started hunting at about 7 and by 7:10 I had spotted a herd with a good enough buck for me. They were about a mile away and I snuck down into the finger I thought they went into. Played cat and mouse with the herd for a little while until the buck finally separated from the does enough and I was able to put one in him at 150 yards. He ran down into the next draw and the does came out but he didn't so I knew he was likely down. I hustled up the ridge between us and he was laying there but still had life in him so I put on more in him at about 25 yards after he stood up. I believe my first bullet failed to expand. All in all it was a pretty fun yet quick hunt and everything went perfectly. Plus it is just a beautiful place to hunt antelope, I hope I can get another chance to hunt here again.

Nice one. Way to get it done in a place you never planed on hunting. I always put for those units in MT hoping to only draw a point.

yes I am having him mounted, they are just too neat looking to throw the cape away.
Thanks everybody!
