That sucks and from a parents point of  view I would be furious.

This is a life's  lesson and it won't be the last time someone does that kind of thing to her. I hope someone encourages her to stand up for what she believes in and to wear the sweatshirt again.

I hate teachers that are like that. Should be fired for giving her opinion.  She is just suppose to teach what she is hired to teach and nothing more.  I hate Liberal teachers because they think that only their opinion is the correct one and nothing else. When my son was in 5th grade I took him bowhunting with me for a week.  A teacher gave my son a hard time and I went down to see that teacher and the administration. When I was done chewing some ass and had an Attorney send them a letter, my son never had a hard time after that.  The teacher got a warning and that was that.  The Attorney was a friend of mine and the money was worth it.

According to the school system, this matter has been resolved to the family's satisfaction for close to two months. There's no mention in the post as to what that resolution involves, nor do I see a comment confirming such from the family. I hate stupid teachers. I had many in school.

We used to bring our hunting rifles to school, too. There wasn't a day during hunting season you didn't see dozens of guns in truck windows.

I have butted heads with moron teachers. I have also been invited to put on presentations that explained Hunting and Harvesting in very positive light with pro gun/Hunting teachers. If you have a teacher bully or shame your child go strait to the Superintendent of the district and file a formal complaint. Principles keep complaints in house.
