Remington Model 700 Warning
« on: February 23, 2017, 12:29:31 PM »
Hi all,

Someone sent me the video below regarding the Remington model 700 having issues for quite some time firing without the trigger being pulled. My Father has had one for years (hasn't fired it a lot) and I would hate to see it happen to anyone else.
Please watch, you might want to contact Remington to have your trigger replaced if you have on of these rifled.

There is no greater respect to have for wildlife than to harvest an animal fairly and use it's flesh to feed your family.  ~me

It just goes to show that no matter how much publicity something gets it still does not get out to everyone that is affected by it. They are now arguing about how much of a problem it is or isn't because of the low number of rifles sent in for the fix.

It surprises me how many folks on all the different shooting and hunting forums I visit still say they had never heard about it. With it being on TV, covered extensively in magazines, all the onlines discussions you would think there would be few people who heard about it.

It just shows how hard it really is to get information out to the masses. Not knocking anyone for not knowing, but it is an interesting lesson in publicity and public perceptions for companies and courts to pay attention to.
