Stared on a handled slitter yesterday. Should speed up my tong making and stop me from burning my wrist. Head is from an old tire iron and handle is from an old grounding rod.

Got my post vice mounted last week
Also got started on my striking anvil. I was going to drift the hardy square but the rain last week kept me under cover so I modified a cold chisel and cut it square. Needs a bit of a touch up but it's coming along nice

Well I hate the slitter. Should have made it inline instead of 90deg.  Going to make a new one

I went to the hammer in this morning in Spokane, it was very well attended a lot of young boys and a few girls, all hammering away !  it was nice to see.

high wind warning for the lower Basin so I bugged out early, did not stake down the wheel line yet and I did not want it to roll away

I did the same but went home and punched a hammer solo. Think it turned out well.
Also mounted my anvil on a stump after hauling 5 tons of hay. No more forging sitting down at the wrong height

Hammer is about 3lbs. Got a couple 4lb cut as well. This is unknown steel so it will not be heat treated. I will use them for striking hardened tools.  Just waiting on some O1 and h13 to make my drifts.  Got another set of tongs done (flat bit) but haven't taken a pic yet.
