There seems to be a love hate with those things. Some people love them and they work fine. others say they break all the time.

The reviews and comments I have seen reflect that.

It seems when they first came out their was issues with followers, a burr near the loading port  due to some rough work.
There also was a lot of folks putting a grip on the slide which was not properly secured.

I have seen reviews that indicate those problems have been resolved.

I think the one being sold now is Generation 3. :dunno:

Like to here from someone who bought one in the last year or so. They are popular enough for my local gun store to have them in stock.

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to talk you out of it or anything cause I'm not I'm just curious. Why the KSG? is it for home protection, Zombies, just of fun?

If its for fun I totally get it but I wouldn't put a KSG in my toolbox for a serious use firearm. just too many problems and QC issues. just my  :twocents:

No worries

I am trying to talk myself out of it.

Just saw it one day and found it interesting. I need another gun like I need a tooth ache. But when I get stressed at work or home I get the urge to buy another gun. :chuckle: Most people buy ice cream or eat.

Not me.

I will stroke the Bonds a little harder.

We had a friend send us with one to shoot for a weekend a couple of years ago. It was pure junk and the reason I won't consider buying anything Kel-Tec. It ended up jamming on us and it took 3 hours to get the thing unjammed.

I do the same thing man. If I've had a rough couple weeks I start creeping Armslist, Gunbroker, Prepper gun shop, Tombstone Tactical, Buds. I just cant help it. and buying a new gun is WAY better for the waistline than ice-cream :chuckle:

My gunsmith/dealer has a UTS15. It's a Turkish 12 ga buildup for a whole lit less coin. He says they are better than the Kel tech and he's sold a few.

What I love about Kel Tech is how they think outside of the box, and everything they make is Ambi, and as a LH shooter I appreciate this. Unfortunately they really arnt a gun company but an areotech co who makes guns. Such cool innovative designs that just don't quite work, and I think it's sad. I also like their 308 battle rifle but it supposedly jams alot.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

My only thing with the UTS is that I am a lefty. Injection looks to be a problem.

The DP 12 looks interesting ,but oohs the price.

I've seen 5-6 of these come through the range over the past 16-18 months, of them 1 went home broken (failure to feed iirc), one had a problem with jamming frequently, and the rest seemed to work pretty decent.

Keltec might not be super high end, but my cheap little pf9 has been Uber reliable, and I love how innovative they are, it pushes the industry somewhat.

Overall, I'd buy a ksg, but I have many other guns I'd like to own first.

This is pretty much what I have heard. you either get a good one or you don't. I personally don't like Kel-tecs based on their business practices. They are happy to send flawed guns out the door knowing that even if they get it back 5 times they will still turn a profit. I don't agree with this practice at all. a lifetime warranty does you no good if you're dead.
