NAFA grades ?
« on: July 31, 2017, 09:12:47 PM »
I hope Adam sees this.  :chuckle:
I just received my NAFA check and as usual there is long list of abbreviations for grades. Also, they included an additional note that they were changing some abbreviations. Slight damaged good would be SDA, Slight damaged Avg would be SDB, Damaged good DG1, Damaged Avg DG2 and Damaged poor would be DG3.
Apparently they forgot to send this out to their personnel because they used the old abbreviations but they did manage to throw in a few head scratchers with no clue as to what they mean.
Alright Adam explain these:

I'll add this. The grading at least on beaver seems to have ended. I knew prices were going to be poor so I shipped all my better beaver off to the tannery. I even high graded what was left and donated some to the Association. What I sent NAFA was the worst looking bunch of beaver I had ever sent in. They all had exactly the same grade, SDG.
I guess when they are all going to the hatter market it doesn't much matter anyway.
