I like to say you lucky dog, but when it comes down to it, its not luck its your scouting, practice, dedication, and will that really pays off for you.  Congrats on yet another beautiful high country buck.  You should post some pics from last years buck also, Id like to see it again.  There sure are so great genes up in the Okanogan, that buck would have been a pig in another year or two.  I heard the lowlanders had a slow opener, my family took one so far, up above Black pine.  The poacher I assume shot the buck the day before it opened?  Was the deer gone the next day?

Is this a permit tag.  What area can you hunt with bow in the rifle season.  This bow season for 3 weeks is absurd.
Tell me how many pieces of flair you want me to wear.

If you have a modern firearm tag for general season you can hunt with a bow during the general modern firearm season. The reason is because you can use any legal weapon. You cannot hunt with a bow during the rifle season unless you have a modern firearm tag or a multi-season tag or other special permit as far as I am aware of.

Thanks everyone!  Huntwa is  %100 correct.  No special tag, no special hunt for archery.  It is my choice and legal right to use a bow duing the modern season IF I have a MODERN TAG.  This means I am not hunting with a bow during the archery season.  These are self imposed limitations.  The special permit I was discussing above is the one everyones applying for for modern rifle late buck.  That is a hunt I WANT to do, and can't if I hunt normal archery.

The guy poached the deer because he is a greedy ass, and shot it the day before the season starts, most likely because he didn't think anyone else was around.  HE IS A LUCKY *censored*, I broke my camera.  He is also lucky I didn't have my gun or I might have confronted him.

Thanks for the info.  I think that will affect the plans for next year.  I would like to tailor my hunts around the rut and pre-rut and rut are the best.  This would put me in that window.  I will still get my chance in November though.

real slow for us. i killed a 18-20" 3x3 on the last night on the way out to the truck. i couldn't resist. i covered every inch of all the land i can hunt and saw 5 bucks, none of which were even legal till i saw the one i killed. i was trapped in mule deer kindergarten.

Boneaddict. I drew a Manson A tag. Was planning on hunting the elk general down around St. Helens then catch the last half of the Manson A season. This thread's furrowed my brow a bit! Hate to miss elk camp 2 year's in a row but, on the other hand I'd like to give this permit some respect.
