AIM Surplus .308 BDG NIB Bolt carrier groups.
« on: January 15, 2018, 11:06:21 AM »
Anyone who has built a AR10 knows that quality .308 bolt carrier groups can be expensive. When I found that AIM Surplus was contracting someone to do a complete nickel boron .308 bolt carrier group for them at a price point of $179.99 (Free shipping). I had my reservations but the price was attractive, so I threw the dice and ordered one.

I was impressed with it the moment I took it out of the box. Top notch machining, no rough tooling marks like I've seen on other standard .308 bolt carrier groups in the same price range. The boron coating is pristine and stout. If someone is building a AR10 or looking to upgrade a AR10 they should consider it.

It is insane how quick they clean up! The bolt carrier bellow has about 600 rounds on it. I had 200 rounds on it since my last complete cleaning of it. A little Butches Bore shine solvent on a rag and a couple Q-Tips and it cleaned up in 5 min or so. The carbon hardly builds up on the bolt behind the gas rings and most of it just comes right off. I shoot AR's allot and I get tired of cleaning them, this carrier group makes it a breeze.

I've used it in a .308, 6.5 Creedmoor and a .375 Raptor without a single hitch. Next week I'll be using it in .45 Raptor and a .257 Roberts AR10.

I ordered two more last week.

I built a 7mm-08 off their stripped lower, upper and standard BCG. Their stuff is pretty decent, especially for the price!
