Looking for a rifle for 9 year old....Bergara
« on: February 03, 2018, 09:19:35 PM »
Looking to build a rifle for my son, planning on topping it with a vxiii 30mm cds scope I have.  Question is what Rifle, I am looking hard at the Bergara's and want to know who has experience shooting them and what they think.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

You might talk to this guy.

I’ll second this, no shooting experience, though I have handled them and talked to the rep at SCI last year and they seem like a solid choice.

I have been eye balling one of these for a while. They are getting good reviews from shooters I've talked to and are often recommended much more than rem700's.....even from the rem guys!  They are a rem700 foot print so that opens a lot of options for upgrades in the future.

You might take a look at the new savage 10s with the accufit stock. The rifle can grow up with your son. :twocents:

I don't want to crap on Mike's rifle he's got for sale, because that's a sweet rifle I wish I could justify, but you're talking about a rifle that is pushing 12 pounds all up. Not ideal for a kid.
