2018 Draw
« on: June 19, 2018, 02:34:15 PM »
Just a FYI for those of you that are like me and have been checking for draw results constantly lately, I came across this today on the drop down menu, read if your interested

System Alerts
SPECIAL HUNTING PERMIT DRAW UPDATE: If you are a 2018 Special Hunting Permit Applicant, then this message is for you.
Greetings Special Hunting Permit Applicants,

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) wants to create a better experience for our hunters who applied for 2018 special hunting permits. This year, WDFW wants to provide you information on what to expect during the drawing process, and your ability to view all of your results when we have completed the process.

On June 20, 2018, at approximately 8:30 am, WDFW will initiate the special hunting permit draw process. This process will inactivate your ability to select and see the “Special Hunts” and “Points” links within your account. If you do login to your account at this time, these links will not be available for you to select.

The special hunting permit draw process includes a citizen witness who is a hunter and non-WDFW employee, a WDFW Wildlife Program representative, and staff from WDFW Licensing Division’s Business Technical Unit.  The Business Technical Unit staff will walk the citizen witness through the steps of validating the drawing, and the publish process. While there are 28 drawings that need to be conducted on this date, only a few are selected and validated with the witness during the meeting. Staff must finish the process of validating the remaining drawings before the results can be published.

During the publishing process, WDFW requests you wait a couple of hours after receiving your email confirmation(s) before checking the outcome of your applications. The publish process places a load on the system, potentially causing slowness and increasing the amount of time needed to finalize and publish the results. This is why WDFW is requesting your patience in viewing your results. We will begin to publish the results early on June 21, 2018.

Please do not call our office to find out the results, as this causes the same issue.

Thank you in advance for your patience in this process. Good luck in the draw!

Hmmm.  Doesn’t the state hire someone to do the draw for them?

You would think with all the money we pay wdfw they would have a system that doesn’t overload when more than 10 people try and log in. “Oh deer!” :chuckle:

I like how they say there’s like 28 draws or something like that, but the citizen witness is only involved with 4.... #cherrypickin

So is it gonna be tomorrow am? Or afternoon? I can’t recall a draw done in the am here but sounds like what they are planning to do. I’m guessing 4pm
