Love the chevy van coming out at 0:50 mark with the windshield wipers going.

Dang, those never get old.  Hilarious.  One of the main reasons I now keep my boat in the Everett Marina now.  I don't think I have enough strength in my fingers to type out all the episodes I've witnessed at the 10th street launch up there.  Have you ever seen someone try to launch a 35 footer with a pickup?  I had to stick around for that one.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Reminds of this episode.

  1:11 is my favorite part!

I've had my antics but the majority were when I just started and I did a lot of launching my boat in January and February.  Most the looks I got were more like why the hell would you be going out on the river right now!

Always a good time. I once launched the 3 boats in front of me at the old Snohomish launch after boat 1 spent 5 minutes doing his best to impersonate Peter Griffin in the previous post. The 2nd guy tried twice and asked if I'd help. The 3rd guy didn't even try.

I have assisted a few times as well.  A couple times for bikini wearing young ladies who's other half told them they could do it with never trying so they could drive onto the trailer.  I avoid this situation when my wife is with me for obvious reason.  Although I did train my wife and she backs down just fine.

I am guilty of going to a local ramp on the first hot weekend in late afternoon / evening with an iced coffee and just watching as well.  Alcohol, boating, ramps, fights - reality TV go nothing on it!

Twin Bridges I was just leaving the dock.

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

When I was learning to drive a clutch, my Dad took me to an empty lot and we practiced until I got it. Why don't these guys practice this stuff before they go to the launch? There is nothing in the world more embarrassing than looking like an idiot while a bunch of people go from amused to annoyed waiting for you to get it right.

Its like trying to parallel park on a busy city street, but worse because you're clogging the whole launch.

That's how I was taught. Backing a trailer around in an empty Kmart parking lot until I could back in a figure 8 and put it in a parking space.

Yup - the wife and I use the local high school parking lot on the weekend.  I could back a trailer just fine but when we purchased a truck camper and started towing the boat it was back for more practice sessions.  After practicing it I realized well hell it's just behind the truck another three feet now - not much different but still had to practice to make sure.

That's how I learned to drive a clutch, a parking lot with a lot of speed bumps. I remember setting up a couple of garbage cans in my driveway and practicing backing a little 10' utility trailer between them. Once I got good at that, backing a bigger trailer was a walk in the park!

I am fortunate, my wife can back our boat trailers in like nobody, with maybe the exception of me, but don't tell her I said that.
