My sister has a 2014, fully loaded, it has been a great truck.
Not as good looking as some, not as powerful as others.
But a good dependable truck.

I have an older one, 96 I believe. Thing takes a beating and keeps on ticking. That’s about all I can say about it as it’s the run up the mountain rig so doesn’t get driven much other than beating down old logging roads. Has 250k on it and runs like a champ aside from a little bit of oil that goes missing every now and again.

My neighbor has an older one he has beat that is still his hunting rig and just bought a new one. He loves them and is not easy on them, but they have held up.

I had a 2007 xe frontier. Bought it with 50k on it drove it to 170k . Woulddrove it longer. But a gal ran a red light and took me out.
Bought a new 2012 frontier se and love it too. Have 78k on it now no issues.

I put 240k on an 88 Hardbody with the 3.0 V6, sold it and still saw it driving around 10 years later. I ran the hell out of that thing too. Lots of wheeling. Pulled an 18' bass boat across the passes over to Banks and Potholes quite a bit for the last 4 years i had it. I had a serious lead foot to boot. Never had any problems with it. It was a 5 speed.
I also had a 96 Pathy with the 3.3 that I got with 100k on it. It was an automatic. That leaked a little oil and atf, but only if it sat for several days. I sold it with 220k on it 3 years ago to my friends son. Still going and still no issues. I wheeled it a bunch in the snow too. It was a pain to top of the fuel tank, my only complaint.
Now I have a 2015 Fronty short box crew cab with the 4.0. Rolled 50k on it last week. I had a coolant hose leak, but other than that, no mechanical issues. Fuel tank is hard to top off in it too - 5 minutes to get the last gallon and half in it.
All three have gotten 16 mpg running around. 18 or better on the freeway, but that's usually at 75+ if I can help it.
Bottom line for me is that the V6 from Nissan is pretty much bomb proof and they are thousands less than the tacos.

I love my 2017 Frontier. Just pasted 31k. Never any mechanical issues.
I believe on some of the older models there may be room for snow chains on the front which could be very important.
I did have a 2" lift & new bumper added.

I had 99,700 on my 2012 pro4x when some lady with Vern fonk insurance hit me and totaled it. It was a great little truck. A bit heavy but it drove really nice. I miss that truck
