Who's been to Riffe recently
« on: May 15, 2019, 12:48:11 PM »
It is one of my favorite fisheries..  Usually go later in the summer but am planning a trip Memorial Day weekend to Mossy Rock.  Even with the crowds can usually find plenty room to fish.  Anyone been recently?  Whats the water level like?  I know it permanently down 35' but the new launch and dock are nice.  Anyone going Memorial Day?

I'm not going until Father's Day weekend but happened to look at the lake levels last night.  It showed Mossyrock and Taidnapam North launches as open which they weren't a couple weeks ago.  Been meaning to make it more than a once a year trip but just haven't pulled that one off yet.  I certainly would enjoy and appreciate a report when you get back!

Several boats a day at Mossyrock park. My buddies working up there have been seeing lots of successful fisherman with some nice silvers. It's been pretty calm in the mornings.
Didnt realize Taidnapam launch opened yet, but knew it was close. I'll talk to my buddy up there and see if he's got a report.

Taidnapam launch is open. Sounds like things slowed down at Mossyrock. Maybe they are heading to the Taidnapam launch.

I need to head down there for smallmouth in the next couple of weeks.  Heard it is extremely low.

You Can fish from the bridge, and have seen a few doing it. But it's along ways down to the water. We were actually fishing just up river from the bridge.
And the launch on east end is open.

Use to have that same thought. Then decided to go fishing anyway. Granted funner (is that a word) and easier with a buddy. Alone beats no going at all 😉🥃
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

It's been some years since I have fished Riffe, but I used to fish on shore at the dam.  Anyone doing that and how are they doing at the dam??

guys still fish the dam, but with the water level being kept down 25+' for the foreseeable future it's a lot more rocky getting down to the water.  Guys still do well.  I'm a boat guy but know a few that still bank it by the dam.  Same story, bait under bobber with a bobber stop.  Adjust until you find their depth
